Kindergarten Address Challenge
Over the last few months, deputies from the Sheriff’s Office have visited several local elementary schools and celebrated the students successfully memorizing their home addresses. Students were quizzed to make sure they were able to recite their address and educated on the importance of knowing their address in case of an emergency.

Sheriff Brady Thomas and Chief Deputy Ben Rice were at the Senior Lifestyle Expo at Kruse Plaza! Folks could drop off unwanted medications and pickup a guide on how to avoid identity theft.
Memorial receives needed attention
Many have called in to report that the flag at Master Trooper Bailey's memorial site was broken. Today Deputy Kerley and Deputy Heffelfinger stopped at the Auburn Family Farm and Home store to borrow a post driver to fix the flag.

With the 2024-2025 school year almost here in DeKalb County, you may notice DeKalb County Sheriff's Deputies saturating patrols in school zones and our local school buildings. The Sheriff's Office considers the safety of our children to be of utmost importance.
Cops cycle for survivors
Yesterday afternoon Cops Cycling for Survivors made a stop in Auburn on their ride from Fort Wayne to Angola. They met with local surviving family members of officers killed in the line of duty and took a short break to refuel and talk with other local officers.
