About Medical Services

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office is contracted with Quality Correctional Care to provide medical care for our inmates.

All inmates receive a medical screening upon booking to assess immediate health needs and ensure continuity of care for any ongoing medical conditions.

Medication Management

Inmates who are taking prescription medications at the time of booking should inform medical staff during their initial screening. The medical team will work to continue necessary medications and coordinate with outside healthcare providers as needed.

Important Information

  • All medications are dispensed by medical staff
  • Inmates cannot keep medications in their cells
  • Medication schedules are strictly maintained
  • Outside medications must be approved by jail medical staff
